Early access · Launches October

The Etsy integration,
in full detail

Etsy is the first marketplace we connected to Shopify and the most complete integration we run. It is in early access now and launches in October — this page covers exactly how it works and precisely what we access on your shop.

What the integration does

The day-to-day of running an Etsy shop alongside a Shopify store, handled automatically.

Two-way inventory sync

Sell on Etsy and the Shopify stock drops. Sell on Shopify and the Etsy listing updates. Quantities stay in step both directions, without anyone editing a number twice.

Orders in one queue

Etsy receipts land in the same fulfilment queue as your Shopify orders, with shipping addresses and line items intact, so you pick and pack from one screen.

Listing and catalogue mapping

Match Etsy listings to Shopify products once — including variations — and SynceBridge keeps the pairing from then on, including for new listings.

Overselling prevention

The most expensive problem in multi-channel selling. Stock is reconciled continuously, so two buyers cannot claim the same last item on two platforms.

Official OAuth, no passwords

You connect through Etsy’s own OAuth screen and approve the scopes. We never see or store your Etsy password, and you can revoke access from Etsy at any time.

Monitoring and support

Sync failures raise alerts rather than sitting silently. If something needs a human, you have a named contact rather than a ticket queue.

Exactly what we access,
and why

SynceBridge is an order and inventory management tool for multi-channel sellers. We use the Etsy Open API v3 with clearly scoped access — here's the full breakdown.

The Problem We Solve

Sellers running both an Etsy shop and a Shopify store face a constant challenge: keeping inventory, orders, and product listings in sync manually. When a product sells on Etsy, the Shopify stock doesn't update — leading to overselling, angry customers, and Etsy policy violations. Manually switching between dashboards wastes hours each week and introduces human error.

How SynceBridge Fixes It

SynceBridge acts as a real-time bridge between the Etsy Open API v3 and Shopify's API. When a sale happens on either platform, our system automatically adjusts inventory on both sides and consolidates the order into a unified queue. Sellers fulfill from one screen; we handle the API calls to both platforms simultaneously.

Etsy API Scopes Requested

ShopReceipts (Orders) Read & Write

Pull open orders, mark as shipped, add tracking numbers, and sync fulfillment status with Shopify.

Listings Read & Write

Fetch active listings to build product catalog and push price/quantity updates when inventory changes on Shopify.

ShopInventory Read & Write

Read current stock levels and decrement inventory when an order is fulfilled on either platform to prevent overselling.

Shop Profile Read Only

Identify the seller's shop name and currency to display correctly in the unified dashboard. No data is modified.

We do not request or access payment information, financial data, buyer personal details beyond shipping addresses, or any scope outside the above list.

How This Benefits the Etsy Ecosystem

Sellers stop copy-pasting stock counts between platforms by hand.

Buyers receive accurate inventory counts — no more oversold listings or cancellations.

Etsy platform benefits from healthier seller operations and reduced policy violations from stock issues.

All access is via official OAuth; no scraping, no credential sharing, fully within API Terms of Use.

⚖️

Etsy API Terms of Use Compliance

SynceBridge operates strictly within Etsy's API Terms of Use and the Etsy Open API v3 documentation. API keys are generated solely for integrating our own order management platform — not on behalf of any third-party app. Each seller authorizes their own account independently via OAuth. We operate as a legitimate integration partner with a clearly defined scope, transparent data handling, and no data resale.
